Beautiful Black Women
Inspire Me
My art is a study of the African- American female form. Their curving lines, delicate yet muscular frames, the never-ending palette of skin tones, textures, and colors – all a celebration of African heritage reflected in graceful womanly expression.
Portraits of these strong beautiful women capture the essence of the feminine aesthetic, while individuals’ personalities portray the inner beauty and mystic possessed by each subject and displayed in candid moments of casual self-awareness.
In my mind’s eye, Black women live their lives on a stage of vibrant colors. The energy that empowers their present illuminates a path of destiny each one of my subjects ultimately carves for herself.
An age, an expression a predilection, captured in oil on canvas, lasts for only a moment. My art preserves that precious moment with the goal of draping the onlooker in an experiential emotion that intertwines beauty, culture, and individualism.
